Clerk of Works - Damp and Mould

3 months ongoing contract
£324 per day umbrella Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed inspections of social housing properties and communal areas
- Assess the quality, standard, and completion of recently delivered major works
- Identify maintenance issues including damp and mould, fire safety, and structural concerns
- Recommend future planned maintenance and major works requirements
- Work closely with contractors to ensure remedial works are completed to required standards
- Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with specifications
- Sign off completed works, ensuring quality and contractual standards are met
- Provide expert Clerk of Works advice to the Planned Maintenance Team
- Maintain accurate inspection reports and documentation
- Proven experience as a Clerk of Works, Building Inspector, or Surveyor within housing or construction
- Strong knowledge of building construction, repairs, and maintenance
- Experience working within social housing or local authority environments
- Understanding of fire safety, damp and mould, and building safety regulations
- Ability to assess quality of works and enforce standards with contractors
- Excellent report writing and record-keeping skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience working on planned maintenance or major works programmes is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently and manage inspections across multiple sites
- Knowledge of asset management strategies within housing is beneficial
