Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £15.50ph PAYE or £20ph umb

Duration: Temporary until July 2026 (possible extension) Hybrid 2/3 days from home, 2/3 days in Sutton initially then flexible
Our client, a well-respected charity, is looking to recruit an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to join their team.
Synopsis of duties:
- Champion the charities values across the organisation and drive the people agenda ensuring a culture based on fairness, collaboration, and trust.
- Strive to make contact and work on a one-to-one basis either face to face or online/telephone platforms with survivors/victims of the Harrow Domestic Abuse service.
- Pro-actively secure engagement, and support victims on an ongoing one to one offer, improving the safety of victims/survivors and link to complementary services.
- Work in a multi -agency framework with existing agencies to design a co-ordinated, strategic individual intervention plan to address identified needs and risks and promote understanding of the impact of abusive behaviours.
- Work closely with the Harrow Domestic Abuse team and external agencies to review risk, develop safety plans, and improve outcomes for all parties involved.
- Responsible over the long term for delivering outcomes, working typically with victims /survivors for a minimum of 12 weeks but up to a period of 1 year
- Ensure that there is a consistent delivery of services to the identified victims of domestic abuse, including comprehensive risk assessment, support planning, and referrals to multi agency panels including MARAC, MASH and MATAC.
- Undertake assessment of risk and needs to inform the individual victim/survivor s intervention plan
- Ensure that risk assessment and risk management procedures are followed at all times.
- Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the service works in, providing a service that recognises the diverse needs of service users and their families.
- Work closely with the Drive team and commissioned IDVA services in supporting victims/survivors and family members of service users in management risk and developing intervention plans. The welfare and safety of children and young people is paramount, considered in every aspect of your work, address parenting needs where appropriate and taking action to safeguard children.
Requirements:
- Experience of direct work with vulnerable service users.
- Working within a public protection/ safeguarding multi-agency setting .e.g. Child protection, vulnerable adults, MARAC, MAPPA.
- Experience in managing safeguarding issues and procedures.
- Writing and presenting information formally and informally, to a range of audiences.
- Working within legislative frameworks and using this application to develop, influence and encourage partnership working.
- Working within conflict management continuum.
- Evidence of keeping reliable and timely reporting and meeting deadlines
