About the role

Our ambition is to build on current restorative justice work and embed wider restorative approaches across services working with children and young people and in community settings.

To support the delivery of a high-quality restorative justice service which aims to repair the harm caused by young people, bringing resolution to victims and children/young people who have been involved in the criminal justice system and to contribute to reducing offending and increased victim satisfaction and community confidence.

The post holder will:

• Champion, promote and support the delivery of restorative justice practice by practitioners delivering youth justice work.
• Champion, promote and support the training and embedding of restorative practices in community settings, schools, children’s homes, youth work settings.
• Increase and develop the use of restorative approaches with young people who are engaged with anti-social behaviour and lower-level youth crime – with a particular focus on supporting trained practitioners in the delivery of restorative approaches.
• Increase and develop support for young victims (who are also at risk of becoming involved in criminal activities).
