Corporate Accountant

I am currently representing Enfield Council, who are offering a permanent position for the right candidate.

We are looking for a Corporate Accountant this role will be: EN1 3ES Hybrid

The right candidate will:

The Corporate Accountant will report to the Finance Manager for Financial Strategy and will support on a range of areas including the Collection Fund, Budget setting and Medium Term Planning as well as supporting the closure of accounts.

* Supporting the Revenues team and Finance Manager in the budget setting, in-year monitoring and forecasting of the Collection Fund.

* Alongside supporting the preparation of the Councils Medium Term Financial plan and strategy and contribute to the annual budget setting process.

* In addition the role will be responsible for supporting the completion of reconciliations, statutory returns and year end processes for the Collection Fund. Providing technical expert advice to budget holders and officers to support decision-making.

* Ensure that the areas of the Accounts for which the officer is responsible for is accounted for in line with Internal Financing Reporting Standards and CIPFA’s Code of Practice for Local Government Accounting.

* Pro-Actively seek opportunities to improve the financial support the service provides to the Council.

We require the following:

To be suitable for the role you need to have a CCAB or CIMA accountancy qualification, or part qualified and actively studying for such a qualification with a high level of finance systems and accounting skills.
