Senior Compliance Officer – Specialty Insurance Carrier

Working Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days Office, 1 day WFH)

Role Purpose:
  • Searching for a seasoned professional to join its team as a Senior Compliance Officer.
  • This pivotal role involves working across departments to identify, assess, and monitor regulatory risks, providing crucial advice and guidance to ensure compliance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures to elevate business standards.
  • Conduct detailed information gathering, process mapping, and analysis to identify and assess compliance risks, collaborating extensively with various departments.
  • Own and enhance the Product Governance Framework.
  • Play a dynamic role in identifying, assessing, and monitoring regulatory risks, reporting on the effectiveness of internal systems and controls to senior management.
  • Provide regulatory advice that balances commercial awareness with positive customer and regulatory outcomes.
  • Design, implement, and deliver effective compliance training programmes.
  • - Lead and support compliance-related initiatives and projects, including research, regulatory applications, and returns.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Interpret data, analyse key performance indicators, and generate regular reports for management.
  • Ensure Consumer Duty Obligations are met through the delivery of ‘good outcomes’.
  • Identify and mitigate Conduct Risk.
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives where compliance expertise is required.
Experience and Knowledge:
  • In-depth understanding of the UK financial services regulatory landscape, including PRA and FCA regulations.
  • Solid knowledge of the general insurance sector, including its products, services, and market dynamics.
  • Approximately 5-10 years of proven experience in compliance roles within the general insurance industry.
  • Strong background in identifying, assessing, and mitigating regulatory risks in insurance firms.
  • Expertise in financial crime prevention and compliance.
