PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to £45,000 plus £5441 London Weighting depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As Senior Communications Officer, you will execute effective communications plans that strengthen the reputation of BBC Studios’ branded channels, streaming services, content sales, and partnerships across EMEA. Working closely with regional General Managers and the Head of Communications, you will help elevate our presence in key markets, ensuring our world‑class content and commercial activity are showcased to audiences and partners across the region.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Deliver corporate, consumer, and B2B communications across EMEA, including programme publicity, press releases, events, interviews, and speaking opportunities.
- Drive audience growth for branded services through targeted trade, consumer, and digital PR campaigns.
- Manage local PR agencies and maintain strong media contacts across EMEA markets.
- Lead corporate communications materials and manage press issues, including executive and talent activity.
- Prepare briefings, speeches, and assets for senior executives.
- Build collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners across the region.
- Support the Head of Communications and produce internal PR reports as needed.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Excellent understanding of corporate, consumer & digital comms.
- Proven ability to craft brand & corporate messages in a variety of tones and styles according to audience and narrator.
- Experience in leading consumer publicity campaigns
- Experience of handling crises and effecting responses at a high profile organisation
- Experience of working relationships with a wide range of levels including the most senior internal and external contacts.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to maintain credibility
- Ability to prioritise to meet conflicting deadlines, often at short notice and under pressure.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Knowledge and/or experience of the media/broadcasting environment an advantage.
