Location: Edgware, North London (Barnet/Harrow border)

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent or Long-term

Hours: Typical shift patterns (e.g., 7:00am–4:00pm or Split Shifts)

Are you a skilled handyperson with a background in building maintenance? We are seeking a dependable School Caretaker to join a well-established school community in Edgware .

This is a vital role for someone who enjoys a varied workday, ranging from hands-on repairs to ensuring the high-level security and safety of the school site.

The Role

As the lead on-site presence for maintenance, you will be responsible for:

• General Maintenance: Executing essential repairs including basic plumbing, carpentry, tiling, and painting.

• Health & Safety Compliance: Conducting and recording statutory checks, including Fire Alarm testing, Water Hygiene (Legionella), and Emergency Lighting.

• Site Security: Managing the morning unlock or evening lock-up, ensuring the perimeter is secure and all systems are operational.

• Contractor Management: Overseeing external tradespeople and ensuring all work is carried out safely and to a high standard.

The Candidate

• Trade Experience: A background in a trade (plumbing, electrical, or carpentry) is highly advantageous.

• DBS Cleared: You must hold an Enhanced DBS check (or be willing to undergo one immediately).

• Problem Solver: A "can-do" attitude with the ability to prioritize urgent tasks in a busy school environment.

• Local Knowledge: Ideally based in or near Edgware (HA8), with a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for local children.
