Legal Biller in a top modern firm!
Your New Company
Our client is a top modern firm specialising in major and complex litigation, arbitration and regulatory investigations. Much of the work is multi-jurisdictional, involving close collaboration with international partners to manage strategic risks across borders. The multilingual team brings together experienced litigators and advocates from elite global backgrounds, offering exceptional industry expertise on every case. You will be joining a friendly, ambitious and highly supportive team who will actively help you progress your career.
Your New Role
• Finalising invoices and credit notes in the financial system in line with firm procedures
• Uploading finalised invoices to a variety of client systems for processing
• Managing the invoice mailbox, responding to billing queries and directing matters to the appropriate fee earner or PA
• Posting client-to-office transfers in the finance system and arranging the corresponding bank transfers through the firm’s banking portal
• Reviewing WIP reports after month-end close and taking appropriate follow-up actions
• Liaising with fee earners regarding aged WIP to determine billable items and assisting them in converting WIP into fees
• Checking that actions and comments from previous WIP reviews have been completed
• Managing WIP write-offs and retrospective WIP-to-bill allocations in accordance with firm procedures
• Attending WIP management meetings with senior stakeholders across the business
What You’ll Need to Succeed
• One to two years of experience in billings, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment
• Familiarity with Aderant or 3E systems, or the ability to learn new billing platforms quickly
• Strong understanding of billing processes, including time entries, disbursements, write-offs and credit notes
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing financial information
• Confidence communicating with fee earners, PAs and senior stakeholders, both in writing and verbally
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple billing deadlines and prioritise effectively
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, especially when dealing with billing discrepancies or client queries
• Comfort working with WIP reports and understanding how WIP impacts revenue and financial performance
• A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work closely with finance colleagues and support wider team objectives
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn and the drive to develop your skills within a fast-paced legal finance environment
What You’ll Get in Return
• The opportunity to join a modern, high-performing firm with an international outlook
• A supportive team environment that encourages professional development
• Exposure to complex, high-value legal matters and senior stakeholders
• A role that offers clear progression and the chance to build strong billing expertise
