Working closely with senior leaders, pastoral staff, safeguarding teams and families, you will monitor attendance data, follow up absences, identify patterns of concern, and support interventions that improve attendance outcomes. This is a varied and rewarding role suited to an organised, proactive and people-focused individual.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor daily attendance and punctuality across the school
Follow up unexplained absences with parents and carers promptly
Maintain accurate attendance records using the school MIS system
Identify trends in persistent absence and produce attendance reports
Support targeted interventions for students with attendance concerns
Liaise with Heads of Year, pastoral staff and safeguarding teams
Prepare letters, meetings and documentation relating to attendance matters
Work with external agencies where required to support attendance improvement
Promote a positive culture of attendance across the school community

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in attendance, school administration or pastoral support
Experience using MIS systems such as SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills with confidence speaking to parents and staff
Ability to analyse attendance data and identify concerns
A proactive, professional and flexible approach to work
Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality in a school setting
