School Business Support Officer - Independent Senior...
A respected independent senior school in Cheshire is seeking a highly organised and proactive School Business Support Officer to join its established operations team. This co-educational school, set within attractive grounds, is known for its strong academic performance, high standards of pastoral care and well-managed administrative infrastructure.
The Business Support function is central to maintaining the school’s professional standards and smooth day-to-day operations. This role offers the opportunity to work within a polished and structured independent setting where efficiency, discretion and attention to detail are highly valued.
The Role
As School Business Support Officer, you will provide operational and administrative support across key business areas, including finance coordination, procurement processes and facilities liaison. You will work closely with the Bursar and School Business Manager to ensure the school’s non-teaching operations run effectively.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting procurement and supplier coordination
• Processing purchase orders and maintaining accurate records
• Assisting with contract renewals and service-level agreements
• Coordinating facilities maintenance requests
• Managing documentation for compliance and audits
• Supporting HR documentation and staff record processes
• Assisting with event logistics and whole-school functions
This is a varied role requiring strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a professional and discreet environment.
The School Environment
The school benefits from modern facilities combined with historic buildings, creating a well-maintained and attractive campus. Administrative systems are structured and well established, and the central team works collaboratively to maintain high operational standards.
Students are engaged and respectful, and the wider school community expects a high level of professionalism in all communications and processes. The Business Support Officer will be a visible and valued part of this infrastructure.
About You
• Previous administrative experience, ideally within education or professional services
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Confident handling confidential information
• Proficiency with financial and administrative systems
• Professional communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience within an independent school environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
What’s on Offer
• Competitive independent sector salary
• Professional and supportive leadership team
• Attractive working environment and facilities
• Structured operational systems and clear processes
• Opportunity to contribute to a respected Cheshire senior school
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator seeking a stable and rewarding role within a high-performing independent school setting.
