Working closely with the SENCo, class teacher, and external specialists, you will implement tailored behavioral strategies, manage classroom triggers, and promote positive learning habits. This is a full-time, ongoing role suited to a resilient, empathetic, and proactive LSA.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 academic and emotional support to a Year 1 boy during structured lessons and unstructured playtimes

• Implement tailored behavior management plans and positive reinforcement strategies to keep the pupil focused and regulated

• De-escalate challenging behaviors calmly and effectively, creating a safe, structured environment for learning

• Assist the class teacher by adapting learning tasks and resources to meet the pupil's specific learning and sensory needs

• Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil while encouraging independence and positive social interactions with peers

• Track pupil progress, log behavioral patterns, and provide regular feedback to the SENCo, class teacher, and parents

• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child welfare at all times

• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the Year 1 classroom environment

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience working as an LSA, Teaching Assistant, or SEN Support Assistant (ideally within Key Stage 1 or Early Years)

• Demonstrated experience supporting pupils with behavioral, emotional, or social development needs

• Strong de-escalation skills, emotional resilience, and a calm, patient demeanor

• Knowledge of positive behavior management techniques and sensory regulation strategies

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to liaise effectively with teachers, parents, and the SENCo

• A proactive, dedicated, and empathetic approach to child development
