Senior Electrical Engineer
A growing sustainability-focused building services consultancy is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Oxfordshire office. This is a hybrid role, working on a variety of projects across multiple sectors.
The practice delivers a wide range of mechanical and electrical design services, including sustainable solutions, lighting design, building physics, and low-energy strategies. Projects span new builds, refurbishments, extensions, fit-outs, masterplans, and long-term asset management. Clients include architects, developers, contractors, and project consultants, with sectors covering education, healthcare, commercial, heritage, transport, hospitality, and community developments.
The Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead on design and project delivery, while providing oversight and mentorship to engineers and technicians. You'll ensure projects meet quality standards and manage workflows from inception to handover. The role also offers opportunities to develop commercial skills, including fee proposals, bidding, and financial management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical building services projects from feasibility through to completion
Carry out surveys, feasibility studies, and specifications
Deliver detailed electrical designs and oversee installations
Provide on-site supervision and contract administration
Manage project workflows and quality standards
Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians
Requirements
Essential:
Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
3-5 years' experience in building services electrical design
Strong knowledge of design software and AutoCAD
Experience mentoring and managing junior staff
Broad sector project experience
Excellent communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills
Competent with Microsoft Office
Full UK driving licence and own transport
Desirable:
Revit experience and familiarity with design/modelling software (training provided)
