Job description
A leading UK organisation in the infrastructure and energy space is seeking a Regulatory Counsel to support its next phase of growth and delivery on a nationally significant project.
This is a newly created role within a small, collegiate legal team, focused on providing strategic legal advice across regulation, governance, and compliance. The position will work closely with senior leadership, external advisers, and high profile stakeholders to ensure the organisation operates within an evolving and highly visible regulatory framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on economic licence obligations and interactions with UK regulators and government bodies;
- Support governance, reporting and approvals processes linked to financing and shareholder arrangements;
- Lead on claims, appeals, and other regulatory proceedings;
- Oversee compliance across multiple regulatory frameworks and contribute to continuous process improvement;
- Engage with senior internal stakeholders, external advisers, and public bodies on complex legal issues.
About You
You will be a qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent) with 5+ years PQE.
You will have experience in regulatory, infrastructure, or energy sectors and bring strong analytical and drafting skills, sound judgement, and the confidence to advise senior decision-makers in a complex environment.
This role offers a rare opportunity to influence how a major UK project navigates the intersection of law, policy, and commercial delivery, while operating at the forefront of the energy transition.
