The Role – Senior Chef de Partie

As a Senior CDP , you will work closely with the Head Chef and Café Manager, taking a lead role in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes across a dynamic and fast-paced kitchen. You’ll help ensure smooth kitchen operations and maintain the highest culinary standards, while also mentoring junior chefs and supporting the development of the team.

You will play a key role in upholding health and safety, food hygiene standards, and Compass Group procedures. This role calls for a passionate, experienced chef who is both a creative team player and a dependable leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sections of the kitchen with confidence and precision

  • Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen

  • Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency

  • Train, coach and support junior team members

  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards

  • Monitor stock, assist in ordering, and reduce food waste

  • Contribute to menu development and innovation

  • Uphold a clean, safe, and positive working environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie, ideally in a high-volume or corporate catering setting

  • Strong culinary skills and deep knowledge of modern food trends

  • Leadership qualities with a collaborative, can-do attitude

  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent understanding of health and safety and food hygiene regulations (Level 2/3 Food Safety qualification desirable)

  • Passion for food, sustainability, and continuous improvement
