Our focus is now on recruiting talented, driven construction professionals to support the success of our strategy.

This exciting, newly created opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor will play a key role in shaping safe, efficient and future ready buildings across our national estate. • Preparing tender documentation such as specifications, Bills of Quantities and quality standards.
  • Providing technical assurance on site, including inspections, compliance checks, snagging and support through defects and warranty periods.
  • Ensuring full compliance with Building Regulations, fire safety, access standards, planning constraints and internal governance requirements.
  • Working with CDM duty holders to manage design risks, safe construction methods and clear communication of residual risks.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong building surveying background with experience in fabric assessment, defect diagnosis and technical reporting.
  • Good knowledge of Building Regulations, fire safety, access standards and compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to produce scopes, specifications, drawings and other technical documents.
  • Confident in design risk management with practical experience of CDM 2015 and construction H&S legislation.
  • Highly organised, able to juggle multiple projects while maintaining governance and accurate records.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders across project teams, contractors and internal partners.
  • Experience working on refurbishment, planned maintenance or compliance based projects, ideally within a construction or estates environment.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams and contributing to design assurance or technical governance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Building Surveying or significant equivalent experience.
  • MRICS status or working towards it (preferred).
  • CSCS card or H&S test pass.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable).
