Facilities & Workplace Experience Manager
Are you an experienced Facilities Management leader ready to take ownership of operations within a high-profile environment?
Reporting directly to the Head of Facilities Operations and Workplace Experience, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role, taking full responsibility for operational delivery, statutory compliance, and client relationships across a prestigious multi-campus estate.
Leading a dedicated team of approximately 145 facilities professionals, you’ll drive the delivery of Hard FM and Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) services while ensuring exceptional customer experience, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
This is a high-profile leadership opportunity that combines technical expertise, strategic operational management, and senior stakeholder engagement.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering safe, compliant and high-performing facilities services while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational delivery of Hard FM and Integrated Facilities Management services across a diverse multi-campus estate.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, health and safety legislation, contractual obligations and service level agreements.
- Drive operational performance against agreed KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency and resilience.
- Lead, motivate and develop a multidisciplinary operational team of approximately 145 employees, creating a high-performance culture.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with senior academic, estates and client stakeholders, acting as a key operational partner.
- Support financial performance through effective budget management, resource planning and identification of cost efficiencies.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement, using data and technology to modernise operations while respecting the needs of a heritage estate.
About You
We’re looking for an inspiring operational leader who combines strong technical knowledge with exceptional people management and stakeholder engagement skills.
You’ll ideally have:
- A proven track record leading Hard FM or Integrated Facilities Management services within a complex, high-profile or multi-site environment.
- Strong technical expertise across Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems, statutory compliance and building services.
- Experience leading and developing large operational teams, driving engagement, accountability and performance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels.
- A commercial mindset with experience managing operational budgets and delivering value for money.
- A data-driven, solutions-focused approach, with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
