An inclusive primary school in Waltham Forest, London is seeking a resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from October 2025.
This role includes providing 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with mild autism, assisting them to access learning and thrive in the classroom.
About the SEN Teaching Assistant Role:
* Support a Year 1 child with mild autism on a 1:1 basis
* Work directly with the class teacher and SENCO
* Use visual aids, structured routines, and gentle encouragement to support both learning and development
* Encouraging social, emotional, and academic development
* Communicating effectively with the wider staff team and parents
About You:
* Previous experience assisting children with autism or other special educational needs (desirable)
* Be both caring and committed
* Able to build strong relationships with both children and staff
* Is enthusiastic about taking on new challenges and responsibilities in a rewarding school role
* Be able to commute to Waltham Forest, London
