Senior Garment Technologist, Knitwear

REISS
London

What’s the role about?

At Reiss, we are looking for a Senior Garment Technologist to play a pivotal role in ensuring our collections meet the highest standards of fit, quality, and construction. You’ll oversee the product journey from development through to bulk production, driving excellence in fit, consistency, and technical standards. Working closely with design, buying, and suppliers, you’ll ensure every garment not only looks exceptional but performs flawlessly for our customers.

This role is a 12 months fixed term contract.

Who you are

  • Has a sharp eye for detail and a deep passion for product and craftsmanship.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Thrives under pressure, staying organised and calm while working to tight deadlines.
  • Combines technical expertise with strong commercial awareness.
  • Brings resilience, problem-solving skills, and confidence to push ideas through.
  • Is collaborative and proactive, able to manage and inspire junior team members.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading fit sessions across all stages, from prototype to production, ensuring consistent fit and construction.
  • Writing clear, detailed tech pack comments with supporting diagrams/pictures for suppliers.
  • Partnering with design, buying, and product development teams to balance design vision with production methods.
  • Managing product quality, from approving samples and resolving technical issues to overseeing wash care and testing.
  • Driving seasonal block updates, managing grading consistency, and overseeing the technical critical path.
  • Reviewing customer returns, analysing reasons, and implementing strategies with suppliers to reduce return rates.
  • Managing and mentoring assistant garment technologists, supporting their growth and development.
  • Building strong supplier relationships, including audits, to ensure adherence to Reiss’ high standards of quality.

What we’ll do for you

  • Competitive salary and company bonus.
  • Up to 65% employee discount.
  • Access to exclusive sample sales.
  • Aviva DigiCare+ wellbeing services.
  • Medicash health support plan.
  • Workplace pension contributions.
  • Enhanced parental leave policies.
  • Electric Vehicle scheme via Octopus Energy.
  • Cycle to Work programme.
  • Season ticket travel loan.
  • Plus further workplace benefits.
