Reception Teacher - Independent School - Wandsworth
An attractive Independent School in Wandsworth is seeking a warm and skilled Reception Teacher to join its Early Years team on a Part-Time basis from January 2026. The Reception Teacher will take part in planning before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and begin teaching from January 2026 as the Reception Teacher. As an Independent School, the setting provides small groups, nurturing pastoral care and high quality indoor/outdoor provision for the Reception Teacher.
Reception Teacher - responsibilities
The Reception Teacher will lead play-based continuous provision, teach systematic phonics and design adult-led language sessions as the Reception Teacher. The Reception Teacher will engage families through workshops, assess progress against the Early Learning Goals and support transition to Year 1 as the Reception Teacher. The Reception Teacher will prepare resources prior to January 2026 and teach from January 2026 as a Part-Time Reception Teacher.

The Independent School provides targeted early years CPD, mentoring and a reflective coaching environment for the Reception Teacher. Even as a Part-Time Reception Teacher you will access the school’s CPD programme from January 2026, join peer observation cycles in January 2026, and develop professionally beyond January 2026. The Reception Teacher will be part of a closely knit staff team in the Independent School and will be supported through regular supervision and reviews.
Person specification - Reception Teacher
We require a Reception Teacher with QTS/EYTS (or equivalent), strong early years practice and the ability to build excellent relationships with families. The Reception Teacher must be available for pre-term planning before January 2026, induction in January 2026, and to teach from January 2026 in a Part-Time capacity as the Reception Teacher.
