Site Assistant - Outstanding School in Barnet

Marchant Recruitment
Barnet, Greater London

We are looking for a reliable and proactive Site Assistant to join an Outstanding school in Barnet starting April 2026. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a unique opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning school environment. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, practical professional who enjoys working as part of a team and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the school.

The Site Assistant will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and security of the school site, ensuring all areas are safe, clean, and ready for use by students and staff. You will work closely with the facilities team to carry out routine inspections, monitor equipment, and respond to maintenance or repair needs promptly. This role requires someone who is adaptable, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the school buildings and grounds

  • Supporting security procedures, including monitoring access points and alarms

  • Responding to minor repairs and liaising with contractors for larger jobs

  • Setting up and preparing spaces for school events and activities

  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and inventory for site operations

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards across the school

The ideal candidate will have experience in facilities, maintenance, or a similar role, demonstrating a practical and hands-on approach. Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential. You should be confident liaising with staff, students, visitors, and contractors, and able to prioritise tasks effectively.

This Outstanding school in Barnet is committed to providing a supportive and collaborative working environment. Staff are highly valued and encouraged to develop professionally through ongoing training and career development opportunities. The Site Assistant will be a key member of the team, ensuring that the school provides a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for all students and staff.

The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, with a permanent contract and benefits including pension and staff wellbeing support.

To apply for this Site Assistant position in Barnet, please submit your CV as soon as possible.
