You will work directly with clients and senior members of the UK tax team, supporting a diverse client base that includes UK publicly listed companies, US-headquartered multinationals, and UK privately owned and private equity-backed groups.

As part of a growing and entrepreneurial team, you will also have opportunities to contribute to business development and collaborate with colleagues across CFGI’s UK and US service areas.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of UK tax reporting services for a diverse portfolio of clients, including UK-listed companies, US-headquartered multinationals and privately owned and private equity-backed groups.
  • Prepare UK entity and group tax numbers in accordance with IFRS and UK GAAP, including relevant consolidation and GAAP-to-GAAP adjustments.
  • Advise clients on tax reporting processes, GAAP conversion projects and tax considerations associated with IPO readiness.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of UK corporation tax returns, managing day-to-day client interactions and ensuring information is obtained accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Manage tax compliance processes with a focus on quality, efficiency and cost-effective delivery.
  • Support clients with tax governance matters, including tax strategy, risk management and controls.
  • Deliver corporate tax advisory work arising from compliance and other client engagements, including loss planning and utilisation, interest deductibility, and the tax implications of trade and asset transfers.
  • Support cash tax modelling, group simplification, tax due diligence and tax structuring assignments.
  • Respond to and manage HMRC tax enquiries on behalf of clients.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the scope of services provided to existing and prospective clients.
  • Support the origination of new tax opportunities, including proposal development, client meetings and pitches.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across CFGI’s UK and US service areas to identify and develop cross-service-line tax opportunities.
  • Work with the CFGI US tax team to support UK tax opportunities for US clients.

What you must have

  • ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualification.
  • Experience of UK corporate tax reporting and UK corporation tax compliance, including preparation and submission of UK tax returns.

What sets you apart

  • Experience working across multiple service lines or with colleagues from different technical backgrounds.

Nice to have

  • Some or all of your corporate tax experience gained within a Big 4 firm.
  • Experience or knowledge of cross-border tax matters, including transfer pricing or country-by-country reporting.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and tax software.

Who thrives here

  • You communicate clearly and confidently with clients and colleagues.
  • You are analytical, organised and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
