KS1 Teacher - Hendon

Marchant Recruitment
Harrow, Greater London

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced KS1 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Hendon, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Key Stage 1 and enjoys delivering engaging lessons that help children develop academically, socially, and emotionally in their formative years.

The school has a strong ethos of inclusion, collaboration, and pupil wellbeing. Staff work together to create a structured, stimulating, and nurturing environment where pupils feel safe, motivated, and confident. Senior leadership is approachable and provides mentoring, guidance, and professional development opportunities for staff to excel.

The Role

As a KS1 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum. You will support pupils’ learning in literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects while fostering independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours. Working closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents, you will ensure that each pupil receives consistent, personalised support tailored to their individual needs.

Monitoring pupil progress, providing interventions where required, and maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment will be central to your role. You will also support pupils in their transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1, helping them consolidate foundational skills and build confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across KS1

  • Deliver engaging literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject lessons

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL

  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours

  • Maintain a structured, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

  • Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records

  • Provide targeted interventions to support pupil attainment

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress

  • Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives

  • Support enrichment activities, school events, and extra-curricular opportunities

  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Have experience teaching Key Stage 1

  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills

  • Be reflective, adaptable, and proactive

  • Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing

  • Work effectively as part of a professional and supportive team

Location

The school is located in Hendon, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community. Staff benefit from a professional, inclusive, and well-resourced working environment where collaboration, development, and wellbeing are prioritised.

How to Apply

To apply, please submit an up-to-date CV outlining your experience and suitability for the role.

Start Date: ASAP
This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
