We are seeking an experienced Product Management Director, Digital Channels to lead the strategy, development and optimisation of our digital channels, including search, discovery and customer-facing digital experiences across web and mobile platforms.

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping how customers discover, engage with and access Royal Mail's products and services. You will drive product strategy and execution across the digital channels portfolio, ensuring a relentless focus on customer needs, commercial outcomes and innovation.

As a senior product leader, you will also play a key role in advancing product management as a strategic capability across the organisation. Working closely with leaders across technology, design, analytics and customer functions, you will help establish modern, scalable and AI-enabled product practices that accelerate delivery, improve decision-making and maximise customer value.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in digital product leadership, a proven track record of delivering results in complex environments, and the ability to build high-performing teams while driving transformation at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the product strategy, roadmap and delivery for Royal Mail's digital channels, including search, discovery journeys, web and mobile experiences.
  • Drive digital innovation by identifying, validating and scaling opportunities that improve customer experience and commercial performance.
  • Champion AI-enabled product management practices to enhance insight generation, prioritisation, experimentation and delivery effectiveness.
  • Build and develop high-performing product teams, fostering a culture of customer-centricity, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with technology, design, analytics and customer experience teams to deliver seamless, end-to-end customer journeys.
  • Establish effective product operating models, governance and ways of working that support long-term growth and scalability.
  • Ensure strong stakeholder alignment across business and technology functions, balancing customer needs, commercial objectives and organisational priorities.
  • Bring external market insights, emerging trends and best practices to continuously evolve Royal Mail's digital product capability.

About You

You will be an accomplished digital product leader with extensive experience leading large-scale product portfolios and building high-performing teams. You will combine strategic thinking with strong execution capability, enabling you to navigate complexity, influence senior stakeholders and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Key requirements include:

  • Significant experience leading digital product organisations and managing complex customer-facing product portfolios.
  • Proven success delivering digital transformation and product-led growth within large, matrixed organisations.
  • Deep expertise in product strategy, roadmap development, prioritisation and value realisation.
  • Experience leading digital channels, customer discovery journeys and digital experience optimisation.
  • Strong understanding of AI and its application within modern product management practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale product capabilities, operating models and product-led cultures.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to align diverse teams around shared objectives.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Outstanding leadership, coaching and talent development capability.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence and drive change at executive level.

This is an outstanding opportunity to shape the future of Royal Mail's digital customer experience and play a leading role in the evolution of product management within one of the UK's most recognised brands.
