Principal Electrical Engineer - Building Services

With a diverse portfolio of projects across the South West - from major education and healthcare developments to complex refurbishment and commercial schemes - this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to take on a strategic technical leadership role while helping shape the growth of the electrical team . Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for electrical building services design across multiple projects
- Lead projects from concept design through to construction and completion
- Develop and oversee electrical designs including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, data and specialist systems
- Act as a senior technical authority , reviewing and approving design work across the team
- Build and maintain strong client relationships , representing the business in meetings and project discussions
- Coordinate with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Manage project resources, programmes and technical quality across multiple schemes
- Mentor and develop engineers and technicians , supporting the growth of the team
- Contribute to business development, bid preparation and strategic growth of the electrical discipline
Requirements
- Extensive experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage multidisciplinary design teams
- Strong technical knowledge of UK regulations, British Standards and industry best practice
- Experience with design tools such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux or similar
- Familiarity with BIM and Revit environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage clients and lead project meetings
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartership would be highly desirable
