Project managing the upcoming People powered southwark campaign. Managing the action plan, updating timetables, keeping the project on time and on budget and working with the communications team to produce work.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
• The post holder will work across the Communications service.
• The post holder will be required to work with a wide range of stakeholders across the division, department, council and partners, using influencing and negotiation skills in order to drive forward service improvement and change.
• You will need to ensure that statutory, policy and good practice developments are reflected in robust systems and procedures and will take responsibility for highlighting gaps and recommending improvements to be linked to the delivery of business and service plans affecting the team, unit, division and department.
• The post holder will undertake a range of projects on behalf of the service using effective project management methodologies and approaches to drive service improvement in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
Project officer activities on behalf of service may include : • Delivering complex policy development, procedural review, business planning, quality management etc.
• To drive, manage and assist in the review of current business processes and recommend changes in working practices and policies to bring efficiencies and performance improvement, using best practice approaches in change management.
• Working alongside senior managers to create service officers and service structures.
Knowledge, including educational qualifications:
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice and have an understanding of procedures and systems, proposed legislation, Government initiatives and Council policy and strategies relevant to the division.
• Knowledge of complex policy development, procedural review, business planning, quality management.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and approaches.
• Understanding and application of equalities and diversity in a service improvement environment.
Experience:
• Using best practice approaches in change management.
• To lead on service development and service improvement projects on behalf of the division, from project start up to embedding and mainstreaming using established projects management methodologies e.g. PRINCE2.
• Analysing and reporting complex data.
• Experience of using effective project management methodologies and approaches.
