Teaching Assistant | Havering
We are pleased to invite applications for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and inclusive school community in Havering. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing within a positive and nurturing school environment.
Our school is built on strong values of respect, inclusion, and collaboration. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support learning across the curriculum. This may include providing general classroom support, working with small groups, or offering one-to-one assistance to pupils who need additional help to succeed.
You will help create a welcoming and engaging classroom environment, supporting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to develop confidence and independence. Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and the preparation of learning resources will also form part of your role.
Supporting pupils with SEND, EAL, or additional needs will be an important aspect of the position. You will be supported by experienced staff and leadership and encouraged to develop your skills through training and professional development opportunities.
Building strong relationships with pupils is central to this role. You will help ensure that children feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn. Communication with parents and carers may also form part of your responsibilities, under the guidance of teaching staff.
You will:
Support teaching and learning across the school

Promote positive behaviour and inclusion
Assist with classroom organisation and resources
Support pupils’ academic and emotional development
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
