English Teacher – Drive Whole-School Literacy and Rigorous English Language Skills – Barking & Dagenham
A supportive , community-oriented secondary school in Barking & Dagenham is seeking a English Teacher with a focus on Whole-School Literacy improvement from January 2026.
- English Specialist required from January 2026

You will teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4 (GCSE). The role involves designing intervention strategies to boost foundational literacy skills, promoting a love of reading, and ensuring rigorous teaching of English Language analytical and transactional writing skills.
Experience and Qualifications
- QTS and a degree in English or a relevant literary/linguistic field.
- Proven experience teaching the GCSE English Language curriculum effectively.
- Experience in delivering literacy interventions (e.g., phonics, specific reading programs) is highly desirable.
- Commitment to promoting a supportive and structured learning environment.
