About the role
The Year 4 Teacher will plan progressive units that build long-term memory and vocabulary, deliver high-quality guided-reading and mathematical reasoning sessions, and run small-group tuition to accelerate progress. The Year 4 Teacher will apply assessment to identify priorities and will collaborate with subject leads across Brent to develop resources and share best practice. The Year 4 Teacher will also support transition work and whole-school initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver ambitious Year 4 lessons with purposeful differentiation and challenge.

• Lead targeted small-group interventions, monitor impact and refine approaches.

• Contribute to curriculum mapping, moderation and cross-curricular projects across Brent.

• Communicate attainment and next steps to parents and support reporting cycles.

• Support enrichment activities and broader school priorities in Brent.

Person specification

• Qualified teacher with demonstrable Year 4/KS2 experience and a track record of improving outcomes.

• Excellent planning, assessment and behaviour-management skills; collaborative and reflective.

• Committed to professional development and available to commence January 2026 in Brent.
