Academic Mentor / Student Success Tutor
Location: London - Tower Hill & Aldgate
Working Model: Onsite
Contract: Part time, Permanent
This is a part time position (3 or 4 days a week) and weekend work will be required for this role as we are open 7 days a week.

The Role
As a Student Success Tutor, you’ll play a central role in shaping student journeys. You’ll provide proactive academic support, act as a personal tutor, and work collaboratively with student services to help every learner succeed. This isn’t just about teaching — it’s about transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 and group academic support to help students understand course material, develop skills, and achieve success.
Act as a personal academic tutor, building strong relationships to create individual support and development plans.
Identify at-risk students using data (e.g., attendance, performance) and implement early intervention strategies.
Facilitate SMART goal setting and monitor progress through regular check-ins and feedback.
Collaborate with well-being, careers, and academic teams to connect students to relevant resources.
Maintain accurate records of student interactions, plans, and outcomes to support continuous improvement.
Promote an inclusive learning environment that respects and celebrates diverse backgrounds
About You
Essential Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (e.g., Business, Management, Fashion, Hospitality). Working towards or holding a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
Proficiency with learning management and student support systems.
Cultural competence and commitment to inclusive education and widening participation.
Desirable
Master’s degree in a (e.g., Business, Management, Fashion, Hospitality)
Experience supporting diverse and international student cohorts.
Experience
Experience teaching in Higher Education, especially with widening participation students.
Experience teaching or supporting learners in Further or Higher Education.
A student-first attitude and cultural awareness.
Familiarity with learning management systems and student support tools.
