HGV Day Driver

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Dundee area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 2 Drivers (CAT C) to join the team.

Hours: Working 5 shifts out of 7 shifts across Monday to Sunday - Days 6am -9am start

Pay Rate:

• Class 2 - £13.49 rising to £14.19 after 12 weeks.
• Class 1 - £14.10 rising to £14.80 after 12 weeks.

Location: Dundee, DD2

Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate.

The role:

• Safely transporting our palletised parcels to Couriers or collecting from Delivery Units.
• Typically have a run with 4 - 5 drops ensuring the safe, efficient driving of vehicles and keeping the paperwork updated.
• Using tail lift/pump truck to handle pallets at sub depots.
• Ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods.
• Maintaining a clean and organised vehicle.
• Collaborating with warehouse and logistics teams for efficient operations.
• Complete a theory and practical assessment to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards and then complete a few days paid training if assessment is successful.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence with Class 2 entitlement (category C).
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Ability to operate tail lift and pump truck equipment.
• Be prepared to undertake a short driving assessment for the position.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.
