Child Support Worker – Specialist SEND Education Setting Milk Education | Tottenham Overview Milk Education is recruiting for a specialist SEND education setting in Tottenham supporting pupils with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning difficulties, sensory processing needs, communication barriers, and social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. This role starts on a day-to-day, term-time basis, with the potential to move into long-term work. The Role We’re seeking a compassionate, patient, and emotionally resilient Child Support Worker who is confident supporting children who rely on structured routines, consistency, and highly personalised care. This is a hands-on, highly involved role. You’ll work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, therapists, and support staff to provide trauma-informed, autism-friendly support throughout the school day. The setting is warm, structured, and relationship-led, designed to help pupils feel safe, regulated, and ready to engage in learning. Key Responsibilities * Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with complex SEN * Support communication using PECS, Makaton, visuals, and modelling * Assist with emotional regulation using personalised strategies, sensory tools, and calming routines * Manage challenging behaviour using positive, non-confrontational, trauma-informed approaches * Support personal care, mobility, or feeding where required * Facilitate structured play, social interaction, and life-skills activities * Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to follow tailored plans and interventions * Ensure pupils are safe, supported, and supervised at all times * Provide routine, reassurance, and clear boundaries to promote regulation * Uphold safeguarding standards and professional conduct Who This Role Suits This position is ideal for someone who genuinely wants to make a difference and is committed to providing stable, skilled, and caring support to children with complex needs.
