The Role:
As a Health & Safety Assurance Associate, you can make your own powerful contribution to people across Westminster. Responsible for conducting detailed reviews of workplace Health & Safety management systems, you’ll identify risks, benchmark performance, and investigate incidents to determine lessons learnt.
Your day-to-day will be varied and dynamic, including everything from carrying out data analysis of accidents to creating plans for managers to action. Through collaboration, training and engagement, you’ll help upskill staff across the council, facilitating a culture of learning, development and continuous improvement. Taking a human-centred approach to safety, you’ll balance complex health & safety risks and compliance obligations to deliver meaningful impact to over 3,600 staff.

About You:
An established professional with a Level 6 NVQ or NEBOSH Occupational Health and Safety Diploma, or equivalent, you’ll have previously worked as a Health & Safety professional in a large, complex organisation. Confident conducting inspections and audits, you’ll also have in-depth knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation.
On a personal level, you’ll be self-motivated, resilient and level-headed, capable of building strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the Council and beyond. A strong communicator and true team player, you’ll be passionate about supporting the Council’s drive to develop a modernised and resilient Health & Safety function built on trust, innovation, and care.
