About The Role:

We’re looking for a Tech Lead to lead a greenfield engineering initiative focused on automating our treasury function. This is a high-impact, multi-year project that will play a critical role in scaling our operations globally.

You’ll be leading a small but talented team (2–3 engineers) and will be responsible for setting the technical direction, maintaining architectural consistency, and delivering a robust custom-built solution that integrates into our wider product ecosystem (Paysend 3.0).

This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone who thrives on writing clean, scalable code while also inspiring and guiding a growing team.

The treasury team and part of any FinTech solution is the hidden government. This is the main part of all FinTechs in the world. The same as messaging layer (processing), moving the real money is vital for all FinTechs. The rare opportunity to be involved in the treasury part of one of the biggest FinTech in the world.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Lead and mentor a tight-knit team of 2-3 engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
  • Define and drive the technical architecture for the treasury automation platform, aligning with both near-term project goals and long-term tech strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers to plan and deliver quarterly objectives.
  • Write code alongside your team - contributing to development while guiding quality, testing, and architectural decisions.
  • Ensure best practices are followed across development, testing, deployment, and documentation.
  • Champion continuous improvement and learning within the team - helping engineers develop their skills and stay current with modern tech.
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including QA, DevOps, and design, to ensure end-to-end delivery.
  • Keep the team and project aligned with modern technologies, processes, and security best practices.
  • Be accountable for delivering high-quality solutions on time and to spec.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful In This Role:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Tech Lead or Engineering Lead role.
  • Strong hands-on experience in JVM, .NET, and pgPLSQL - you're comfortable jumping into code and leading by example. Knowledge of the Rust universe will be beneficial.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture and design patterns, with experience building scalable systems from the ground up.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills - you know how to get the best out of people while helping them grow.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, especially when working across teams and functions.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Solid understanding of security practices in modern software development.
  • A proactive, solution-focused mindset - you're comfortable navigating complexity, managing risks, and delivering in fast-paced environments.
