Clinical Lecturer in Mental Health Sciences

University College London (UCL)
London

Job Summary

A registered mental health professional (clinical psychologist, nurse, occupational therapist, social worker or other relevant professional) is sought to take a major role in the organisation and delivery of the MSc degrees in Clinical Mental Health Sciences and Mental Health Sciences Research at UCL. The post holder will have a particular responsibility for contributing a clinical perspective to the course. The post holder will join the Division of Psychiatry, a multidisciplinary mental health research department, whose members have a very wide range of research and clinical interests. Most time will be educational, but 20% will be allocated for research to a post-holder who is in a position to begin developing their own research programme, with extensive scope for forming collaborations both within the Division and elsewhere at UCL. There are additional opportunities to be involved in research via research project supervision, with many student projects resulting in a publication. The postholder will join a growing team of academic staff supporting the MSc.

Key Requirements

Applicants must have a professional qualification relevant to mental health, including in clinical psychology, occupational therapy, nursing or social work. They must also have substantial teaching experience and preferably also experience of supervising post-graduate research projects. A PhD is desirable: a candidate who does not have one should have considerable research training and experience.
