About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Private Chef for a temporary role in a private household based in Notting Hill. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, adaptable cook to deliver high-quality, personalised meals for a busy family and occasional entertaining. The rate is £28 per hour inclusive of holiday pay. The role is gender neutral and open to all qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook daily breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks to the household’s preferences and dietary requirements.

• Create balanced menus using fresh, seasonal ingredients and source quality produce from local suppliers when required.

• Prepare menus for private dinners and small gatherings, including canapé and multi-course service where required.

• Manage food preparation, presentation, and plating to a high standard consistent with client expectations.

• Maintain strict food hygiene, allergen control, and kitchen safety standards at all times.

• Manage kitchen ordering, stock rotation, inventory and basic cost control for the household kitchen.

• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and the kitchen workspace, following household routines and schedules.

• Work flexibly to cover occasional evenings and weekends; provide notice for any additional availability required.

• Communicate professionally with household staff and clients, maintaining discretion and confidentiality.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Private Chef or similar role in high-end domestic households, private events, or fine dining kitchens.

• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (or equivalent) and strong allergen awareness.

• Ability to adapt menus to dietary requirements, allergies, and individual preferences (including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.).

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Positive, professional attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Full right to work in the UK. A DBS check is desirable and may be requested by the client.

• Valid driving licence and own transport preferred but not essential.
