About the Role
As a Site Assistant, you will support the maintenance, security, and day-to-day operation of the school site. This role is hands-on and varied, offering opportunities to work both independently and as part of a dedicated site team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the upkeep and cleanliness of the school premises

  • Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks across the site

  • Assisting with security, including opening and locking buildings, monitoring access, and ensuring safety protocols are followed

  • Setting up classrooms, halls, and facilities for events, meetings, and extra-curricular activities

  • Assisting contractors and monitoring work carried out on the premises

  • Supporting health and safety compliance and reporting risks promptly

  • Maintaining outdoor areas, grounds, and communal spaces

  • Providing practical assistance during school events, trips, or emergencies

Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience in site management, caretaking, or facilities support

  • Be practical, proactive, and capable of problem-solving independently

  • Demonstrate good organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Have a clear understanding of health and safety procedures

  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Be flexible and able to respond to urgent site issues quickly

Experience within a school environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided where needed.
