Job description
International Arbitration Associate – Leading Specialist Law Firm, London
Greenway Search are delighted to be collaborating with a highly regarded and specialist disputes practice in London who are seeking to appoint an International Arbitration Associate to join their market-leading team. Recognised for their technical excellence, depth of expertise and track record in high-value, complex disputes, the firm has a strong reputation acting in sophisticated cross-border arbitration proceedings across multiple industry sectors.
The team advises a diverse client base including multinational corporates, sovereign states, financial institutions, and high-net-worth individuals, frequently handling matters of significant strategic and commercial importance. The practice is particularly well regarded for its work in energy, infrastructure, construction, financial services, and international trade disputes, often involving multi-jurisdictional issues and complex points of public and private international law.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of international arbitration, including:
- Acting on complex, high-value disputes under the leading institutional rules (LCIA, ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL, SIAC, SCC, etc.), as well as ad hoc arbitrations.
- Drafting submissions, witness statements, expert reports, and procedural applications.
- Engaging in detailed factual and legal analysis, often across multiple governing laws and jurisdictions.
- Advising on enforcement of arbitral awards, sovereign immunity issues, interim measures, and related court proceedings in the English High Court.
- Managing client relationships, supporting business development, and contributing to thought leadership in the arbitration space.
Candidate requirements:
- Strong academic background and legal training from a top-tier international, specialist, or disputes-focused practice.
- 2–5 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in international arbitration, ideally gained in London or another leading arbitration hub.
- Demonstrable experience acting on complex, cross-border disputes and familiarity with multiple arbitral rules.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills, with a keen eye for technical and procedural detail.
- An ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit and highly collaborative team, with a strong client-service ethos.
- Language skills are advantageous but not essential.
This opportunity offers the successful candidate the chance to join one of London’s most highly respected disputes teams, working at the forefront of international arbitration on matters of exceptional complexity and significance. The firm offers a supportive and intellectually rigorous environment, strong career development prospects, and exposure to some of the most challenging disputes work in the market.
