Kilnbridge Structural Services
About Kilnbridge
Kilnbridge is the UK’s leading structures specialist, delivering some of the country’s most complex and iconic engineering, construction and infrastructure projects. Our expertise spans the full lifecycle of a structure - design, build, adapt, repair and protect - delivered by four specialist operational businesses that combine seamlessly as One Kilnbridge to meet any project’s needs.
We are purpose led, focused on building a sustainable and resilient future for the UK, with a reputation for technical excellence, safety and quality built over 35 years. As an employee-owned business, our people are at the heart of everything we do - empowered to contribute, innovate and help shape our continued success.
This isn’t a back-office QS role.
Join our Structural Services team and you’ll be right at the centre of delivery, working on technically complex structural projects where commercial performance genuinely matters. You’ll have the space to take ownership, influence decisions, and see the direct impact of your work on project outcomes.
What you’ll do
Get involved early, supporting tenders, shaping cost plans and influencing how projects are set up from day one
Take ownership of project commercials, keeping a clear grip on cost, risk and performance throughout
Manage valuations, applications and cash flow, making sure things move, not stall
Spot risks (and opportunities) early and do something about them, not just report on them
Work closely with project teams to keep delivery and commercial position aligned
Handle variations, CVIs and change with confidence, keeping control, not chasing it
Play a key role in procurement, dealing directly with subcontractors and supply chain partners
Produce clear, accurate reporting that actually helps decisions get made
Drive projects through to final account, protecting margin and relationships
What you’ll need
Solid experience, around 5+ years in construction, ideally within structural or specialist works
A good grounding in Quantity Surveying, whether through a degree, HND or hands-on experience
Someone who understands how jobs really run, not just how they should run on paper
Confidence to deal with subcontractors, challenge where needed, and hold your ground commercially
Strong commercial awareness, you know where money is made and lost on a project
The ability to manage your own workload and not rely on constant direction
Good instincts, spotting issues early and acting on them
Clear communication style, straightforward, professional and easy to work with
Attention to detail, without losing sight of the bigger picture
Ideally working towards RICS, but more interested in what you can actually deliver
Why Kilnbridge?
With major projects delivered across the UK - from national infrastructure to clean energy, buildings and complex structural works - Kilnbridge offers the opportunity to work on schemes that leave a lasting legacy on the built environment. With a UK network of offices from London to Runcorn to Lisburn, we are a trusted partner in some of the most highly regulated, constrained and demanding environments.
We are proud to be an employee-owned organisation where every colleague has a real stake in our success and a voice in how we grow. Our culture is shaped by four core values - Responsibility, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence - which guide how we work and support one another every day.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
Kilnbridge is an equal opportunities employer and a proud member of the Disability Confident Scheme. We are committed to creating a diverse workplace where everyone is treated fairly with dignity and respect. We welcome discussions about flexible working and encourage applicants who may require reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process.
