Premises Manager - Immediate Start in Ealing
Premises Manager
Location: Ealing, West London
Salary: Competitive (Based on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: ASAP / Immediate
The Opportunity
Wayman Education is seeking an experienced and highly organized Premises Manager for an immediate start at a vibrant school in the London Borough of Ealing. This is a senior operational role perfect for a facilities professional who thrives on variety and takes pride in maintaining a safe, efficient, and inspiring learning environment.
The Role
As the Premises Manager, you will be the strategic lead for the school’s physical assets. You will move beyond day-to-day maintenance to manage statutory compliance, long-term estate planning, and a dedicated site team. Your work will ensure the school remains a first-class facility for students, staff, and the wider Ealing community.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Estate Planning: Develop and implement a rolling program of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and capital improvement projects.
Compliance Leadership: Ensure the site meets all legal requirements, including managing the Single Central Record for contractors, fire safety, water hygiene, and gas/electrical testing.
Team Management: Lead, train, and mentor the site and cleaning teams, ensuring high standards of workmanship and productivity across the school.
Contractor & Project Management: Act as the main point of contact for external vendors, overseeing large-scale building works from the initial tendering process to final sign-off.
Environmental Sustainability: Drive initiatives to reduce the school’s carbon footprint, managing energy efficiency and waste reduction programs.
The School
This Ealing-based school is known for its ambitious leadership and a campus that blends historic architecture with modern extensions. You will join a senior support team that values the premises department as the foundation of the school’s daily success.
Why join this team?
Professional Autonomy: Take full ownership of the premises budget and help shape the future look and feel of the school site.
Supportive Leadership: Work directly with the School Business Manager who views the premises team as a strategic partner in the school's growth.
Central Location: Excellent transport links via the Elizabeth Line, Central Line, and local bus networks, making it easily accessible from across West London.
Stability and Growth: A permanent position in a secure environment with opportunities for further professional facilities management (FM) training.
Requirements
Proven experience in Premises Management or a Senior Facilities role, preferably within an educational setting.
Deep understanding of Health & Safety regulations (IOSH or NEBOSH certification is highly desirable).
Experience in managing budgets and overseeing third-party service contracts.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing a multi-disciplinary site team.
Proficiency in using Facilities Management software or CAFM systems for tracking maintenance and compliance.
