Lead Product Designer - London

At Trustpilot, we're on an incredible journey. We're a profitable, high-growth FTSE-250 company with a big vision: to become the universal symbol of trust. We run the world's largest independent consumer review platform, and while we've come a long way, there's still so much exciting work to do. Come join us at the heart of trust!

We're looking for a Lead Product Designer to shape a new squad. This is a distinctive role that extends beyond just feature design. You'll be responsible for defining the strategy and standards for a premium, enterprise-grade look and feel across our B2B platform. We need an experienced leader who consistently elevates a product's polish and perception, ensuring it feels as professional and robust as the businesses we serve.

As a senior individual contributor and design leader, you'll own complex, ambiguous problems from end to end. You’ll lead the full design lifecycle from strategic discovery to polished execution and play a pivotal role in shaping our product's direction. This position demands a rare balance of exceptional hands-on craft, strategic thinking, and the ability to mentor and influence others, raising the bar for design and experience quality across the entire organisation.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the design strategy and execution for complex, high-impact features, taking full ownership from initial problem framing to final delivery.
  • Champion design as a discipline rooted in clarity and intent, ensuring our product experiences are not just functional but also grounded in enduring design principles.
  • Collaborate with the design systems and brand teams to define and co-create a scalable visual strategy, ensuring alignment on a cohesive visual language across products.
  • Design high-quality user journeys and product experiences that raise the standard of design excellence and set benchmarks for quality within the product.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Engineers, and Researchers, using your influence to shape product strategy and execution.
  • Conduct and lead user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and ensure user needs are at the forefront of every solution.
  • Drive significant contributions to our design system, building scalable patterns and robust documentation that empowers the entire team.
  • Mentor and guide mid-level and senior designers, sharing your knowledge to raise the overall craft and maturity of the design organisation.
  • Articulate the value of great design and its connection to measurable business goals, influencing stakeholders at every level.
  • Be a valued voice in the design leadership group, contributing to broader design initiatives, cultivating a culture of excellence, and influencing strategic decisions that affect the entire discipline.

What you’ll need:

  • Extensive experience designing within a SaaS product environment, with a deep understanding of its unique challenges and opportunities.
  • A robust foundation in design principles and theory, with the ability to articulate and apply ideology, intent, and intervention to guide decision-making and raise design as a discipline across the organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience working in complex SaaS agile environments, with a thorough understanding of how to deliver products in a sustainable and scalable way. Show us how you've previously elevated a product's look, feel, and overall perception.
  • Evidence of design work that has delivered a measurable business impact and shaped product direction.
  • Skilled in both communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and influence stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience actively contributing to and evolving robust design systems within complex engineering environments, establishing principles that guide your design decisions.
  • The ability to mentor and support designers, helping them grow their skills.
  • Proficiency with Figma and other industry-standard design and prototyping tools, familiarity with front-end implementation practices, comprehensive knowledge of accessibility compliance, and significant experience collaborating with engineers in Agile workflows.
  • Motivation to integrate AI tools into your workflow for the benefit of the process and end customer.

What’s in it for you:

  • A range of flexible working options to dedicate time to what matters to you
  • Competitive compensation package + bonus
  • Restricted Stock Units
  • 25 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 days after 2 years of employment
  • Two (paid) volunteering days a year to spend your time giving back to the causes that matter to you and your community
  • Rich learning and development opportunities are supported through the Trustpilot Academy and Blinkist
  • Pension and life insurance
  • Health cash plan, online GP, 24/7, Employee Assistance Plan
  • Full access to Headspace, a popular mindfulness app to promote positive mental health
  • Paid parental leave
  • Season ticket loan and a cycle-to-work scheme
  • Central office location complete with table tennis, a gaming corner, coffee bars, and all the snacks and refreshments you can ask for
  • Regular opportunities to connect and get to know your fellow Trusties, including company-wide celebrations and events, ERG activities, and team socials.
  • Access to over 4,000 deals and discounts on things like travel, electronics, fashion, fitness, cinema discounts, and more.
  • Independent financial advice and free standard professional mortgage broker advice
