Java Developer (IT)

Java Developer 6 Month contract initially + Extensions Based: Remote, with 1 day p/w onsite in London Rate: £Market rates p/d - (via Umbrella company) We have a great opportunity with a world leading organisation where you will be provided with all of the support and development to succeed. You will join a dynamic team building scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems. Working on cutting-edge technologies in microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud solutions. Your responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.
• Design and implement microservices and event-driven architectures leveraging Confluent Kafka.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and shell scripting.
• Write and execute unit, integration, and performance tests using Mockito, Gatling, and JMeter.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize systems using New Relic and Grafana.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and Kafka.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

• Exposure to AWS cloud services or AI technologies.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools such as Gatling and JMeter.
• Knowledge of system monitoring tools like New Relic and Grafana.
• Experience in shell scripting for automation.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and Spring Security.
