Spanish Teacher - Independent School in Greater...

Marchant Recruitment
London

An opportunity has arisen for a talented Spanish Teacher to join a growing independent day school in Greater Birmingham area. This is a full-time role beginning in January, teaching across KS3–KS5 (GCSE and A-Level Spanish). • Full-time Spanish Teacher required from January

Spanish is a popular and successful subject at the school. In 2023, 76% of GCSE candidates achieved grades 7–9, while 82% of A-Level pupils secured A*–B. Pupils benefit from small class sizes, tailored support, and opportunities to experience immersion through language exchanges, cultural visits to Spain, and links with partner schools abroad.

Requirements
• Qualified Spanish Teacher with QTS (PGCE, QTLS or equivalent considered)
• Ability to teach Spanish at GCSE and A-Level (knowledge of French or another language desirable but not essential)
• Excellent subject knowledge and commitment to high standards of teaching
• Passion for language, culture and international education
• Legal right to work in the UK

Salary & Benefits
The role is paid to scale on MPS/UPS, with enhancements available depending on experience. Staff enjoy a welcoming and collaborative working environment, free term-time lunches, free on-site parking, a contributory pension scheme, and access to CPD and development opportunities.

About the School
This independent co-educational day school educates around 400 pupils aged 4–18 and has a reputation for academic progress, personalised learning, and strong pastoral care. The school community is inclusive and forward-looking, with a focus on developing confidence, resilience and independence.

Facilities are modern and well resourced, including a dedicated Sixth Form Centre, specialist language classrooms equipped with digital learning tools, and access to co-curricular activities such as debating, drama, and international trips. Pupils consistently progress to a range of universities, with an increasing number choosing to study languages at degree level.
