Working Hours: 37,5 hours Monday-Friday, normal working hours are 09.00-17.30

Recorra is a leading circular economy company, providing services for recycling, data destruction and office supplies in London and the South East. We are born environmentalists, formed by Friends of the Earth in 1988 and now operating as an independent commercial organisation.

The Role
This isn’t just a sales role, it’s an opportunity to help businesses make greener choices through a consultative approach. As our Business Development Manager, you’ll play a key role in expanding our Workplace Supplies offering by promoting sustainable and circular workplace supplies that reduce waste, lower carbon impact and support responsible procurement. You will be responsible for generating your own new business opportunities while also converting warm leads introduced through Recorra’s recycling client base and working closely with account managers and sustainability team.
The role is primarily based at our London SE1 site, with flexibility around client meetings and one day per week working from home. If you have a full day of meetings, there’s no need to come into the office.

Responsibilities
Proactively generate new business through outbound prospecting, networking and follow‑up activity
Convert warm introductions provided through Recorra’s recycling and waste management teams
Engage with a wide range of organisations, typically those with 50+ staff
Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline from first contact through to onboarding
Conduct client meetings and site visits to understand needs and propose solutions
Promote our full range of workplace supplies, including sustainable and circular product options
Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and long‑term account growth
Keep CRM records and forecasts accurate and up to date
Represent Recorra professionally and positively in the market
About You
Experienced in business development, knowledge and experience in office supplies is beneficial but not required
Strong knowledge of workplace supplies products, pricing structures and customer buying behaviour
Confident in generating your own leads and managing your pipeline end‑to‑end
Able to engage effectively with accounts of all sizes and seniority levels
Commercially minded, able to sell on value, service and differentiation
Motivated by targets and resilient in your approach
Highly organised with strong communication skills
Genuine interest in sustainability and beneficial with previous experience although not required, full training will be provided
