This role will require a presence of at least 4 days a week on our London(Stratford Campus) or Manchester campus, with 1 day working from home to suit the student timetable. You maybe required to be on campus 5 days a week in some cases, based on teaching and meeting requirements.

Travel will be required into the following locations:-

  • Manchester campus

  • London campus (Stratford)

About the Opportunity:

As a Lecturer in Computing (Level 6 Capstone Project Lead) with responsibility for the Level 6 Capstone Project module, you will play a key role in guiding final‑year students through one of the most significant elements of their degree. You will deliver the capstone project module sessions to students, oversee the full project lifecycle, and act as the central point of contact for both students and project supervisors.

Working collaboratively with academics across Arden’s UK study centres, you will ensure that all students receive high‑quality support throughout the duration of their project. Our blended learning programmes provide flexible daytime and evening teaching options, while our distance learning programmes engage students via a range of online learning platforms.

As a Lecturer in Computing with capstone project responsibility, you will:

Teaching & Module Leadership

  • Deliver engaging and dynamic teaching for the Level 6 Capstone Project module, both on campus and online.

  • Support the academic development and quality assurance of the module, including updating learning materials, assessment briefs, and guidance documents.

  • Support students in developing robust, ethical, and feasible project proposals aligned with the Computing programme learning outcomes.

Project Oversight & Supervision Coordination

  • Oversee the full Level 6 capstone project process, ensuring clarity, consistency, and high standards.

  • Assign students to appropriate project supervisors based on expertise, workload, and project suitability.

  • Provide academic leadership and guidance to supervisors, ensuring they understand expectations, timelines, and marking criteria.

  • Act as an escalation point for project queries, student concerns, academic issues, and project‑related decision‑making.

  • Monitor supervisor engagement and student progress throughout the project lifecycle, identifying and resolving issues proactively.

Assessment & Quality Assurance

  • Support with the approval and marking processes, ensuring rigour, fairness, and consistency.

  • Contribute to the creation of authentic, research‑driven assessment tasks that reflect industry and academic expectations.

  • Provide high‑quality formative and summative feedback that supports student development and academic achievement.

  • Engage in internal moderation and support external examiner processes.

Curriculum Development & Innovation

  • Lead or support the enhancement of project‑related modules and research pathways to ensure alignment with current computing and technology trends.

  • Contribute to the design and development of new programmes and the refresh of existing curricula.

  • Promote innovation in teaching, supervision, and assessment practices, with a particular emphasis on research‑informed learning and digital‑first approaches.

Student Support & Academic Community

  • Offer high‑quality academic advice, pastoral support, and research guidance to Level 6 students undertaking major projects.

  • Foster a positive, research‑active learning environment.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and progression
