Head Chef
Job Description

Reporting to the Executive Chef and Account Manager, you will lead, inspire, and develop a talented kitchen team, ensuring the delivery of fresh, creative, and consistently high-quality food. This is a permanent full time role on site.

Job Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of kitchen operations, food quality, and financial performance
- Plan and deliver innovative, customer-focused menus and food offerings
- Manage budgets, including food costs, labour, and subsidy targets
- Lead, develop, and manage the kitchen team, including recruitment and performance reviews
- Oversee stock control, ordering, stock rotation, and waste minimisation
- Ensure all food production meets quality, presentation, and service standards
- Maintain full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction
- Coordinate daily operations, including service delivery, events, and hospitality functions
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders
Key Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in Culinary Arts, Professional Cookery or HACCP
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior kitchen management / Head Chef role
- Proven experience leading large, diverse kitchen teams (including casual staff)
- Strong passion for high-quality food and exceptional customer service
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Experience delivering corporate hospitality from concept to execution
- Strong commercial awareness, including budgeting, GP, and cost control
- High level of knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP, and compliance standards
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
