With 230 experts in London, we are trusted by many of the world’s leading businesses and brands.
Our specialist teams include Brand & Reputation, Corporate Advisory & Capital Markets, Public Affairs, Strategic Media, Crisis & Risk, Change & Employee Engagement, Health, Financial Services, Technology, Mischief and Studio La Plage.
Role overview
We are looking for an outstanding Account Director to join our Brand and Reputation team, which is fast paced and focused on ambitious growth.
This person will be experienced in being part of campaigns which give national profile to organisations, in a way that positively impacts perceptions among corporate and/or consumer audiences.
We’re less concerned about where a candidate has gained their experience or which sectors their clients have been in, but an agency background is preferred. What they must bring is tenacity, enthusiasm, curiosity and fun to their work.
MHP’s Brand & Reputation practice was formed in 2019, through the merger of its corporate and consumer teams. This has enabled us to meet the evolving needs of our clients, who increasingly look for integrated agency support to manage complex stakeholder environments.
We are looking for candidates who can not only support CMOs with creative marketing programmes and increase the bottom-line, but who can easily pivot to deal with complex situations and advise business leaders on mission critical issues.
As an Account Director at MHP Group, you will :
- Lead a day to day portfolio of corporate PR accounts for clients across a variety of industries, including financial & professional services, energy and infrastructure, FMCG, public sector and B2B technology
- Advise and guide clients on complex corporate issues, including ESG, regulation and emerging consumer trends
- Provide ongoing counsel to senior level clients, from PR Managers and Directors of Comms to CMOs and CEOs
- Lead integrated client teams to deliver campaigns that reach a variety of corporate audiences and stakeholders
- Instil best practice client management across the team; take responsibility for building relationships with senior client contacts
- Develop and oversee content for thought leadership campaigns across earned, owned and social channels
- Identify and respond to opportunities for organic growth across client base
- Lead small to medium sized new business pitches and support on bigger pieces
- Ensuring we deploy best-in-class measurement techniques to demonstrate the value of our work
- Oversee quality of the team’s written output: press releases, media comment, opinion pieces, proposals etc
- Leading by example: inspiring more junior members of the team by bringing the outside in, being aware of developments and activity within the comms industry
- Undertake responsibilities as a senior member of the Brand & Reputation team, including development of marketing collateral to promote the work of the practice
You will :
- Have extensive experience working on large issues-led clients and campaigns, ideally with international experience
- Have the ability to lead accounts, overseeing teams, servicing and contract commitments
- Have the ability to counsel client contacts – from PR Managers to CEOs – with confidence, calmness and clarity
- Be a media nouse: someone who brings with them a thorough understanding of the media and influencer landscape plus an impressive list of contacts
- Have digital understanding: with experience in devising and selling in social/digital activations as part of a campaign to clients
- Be highly organised: this person will be relied upon to run busy accounts and ensure the team are delivering effectively and efficiently
- Be a strong writer: skilled at writing client activity proposals, opinion pieces and new business proposals
- Be a brave thinking: someone who’s not afraid to try something new
- Be a team player: great interpersonal skills, and someone who brings a sense of fun to their work
- Have great time management and ability to multi-task, and instilling this across the team
- Have a passion for news, culture and current affairs
- Be a stickler for detail; someone who doesn’t miss an opportunity to correct grammar or spelling or spot something that doesn’t quite add up
And in return, we offer:
- Excellent starting salary with annual reviews
- 25 days holiday allowance (+ bank holidays), a day off to celebrate your Birthday, ‘Time4U’ every month and office Christmas closure
- Matched pension contributions (up to 5%)
- Life Assurance
- Private Medical Insurance
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Season ticket loans and Cycle to work scheme
- Gym & Shopping discounts
- Access to our Learning Academy to support your career and personal growth
- Hybrid (up to 2 days remote working per week)
- ‘Work from Anywhere’ one week per year
