Senior Project Manager - Contract (London) (Hiring Immediately)

Role Overview:

Insight Investment are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Application Product Management division. You will be primarily responsible for managing the initiation, analysis and implementation of larger project initiatives involving multiple internal technology product teams, and outsourced partners, within Insight’s agile delivery framework.

This role will primarily work with our back-office provider Northern Trust to facilitate the successful migration of strategic Collateral and ETD re-platform initiatives as well as support internal regulatory initiatives.

• Scope, plan and lead projects by directing both internal and external resources to ensure successful delivery, with initial focus on security related initiatives
• Work with Agile teams to agree prioritisation of work and align with external parties
• Responsible for establishing and ensuring projects comply with quality standards

This list is not exhaustive, and you will be required to undertake further tasks in order to ensure business needs are met including within the wider business driven initiatives.

Role Responsibilities:

Depending on the size and complexity of a given project the candidate may be asked to take complete responsibility for its delivery. This is a hands-on role requiring a broad set of skills

• Take full responsibility for assigned projects including:
• Analysis of the specific problem
• Defining / documenting the overall solution
• Identifying impacted teams / individuals and working with them to schedule required work
• Overall planning of project considering timelines agreed with other teams
• Overall coordination and management of the plan.
• End to end testing of overall solution with support of other teams – including a hands-on approach where necessary.
• Project reporting as required e.g., status, risks, issues etc.
• Stakeholder management throughout
• Taking responsibility for assigned tasks within other projects run by other team members i.e., specific assigned items from the above list.
• Form close working interaction with Product Owners, Business Owners, Product Team members and other impacted groups as required.
• Form close working interaction of key business groups such as portfolio management, trading. middle office and external parties.
• Develop a good working knowledge of the scope and overall function of systems covered by each Product Team

Experience Required:

• Solid understanding of Asset Management including the roles of the various participants within the industry.
• Understanding of a typical trade lifecycle e.g., execution, pricing, confirmation, settlement, reporting etc.
• Good understanding of Fixed Income securities and derivatives
• Experience of transitioning platforms would be beneficial.
• Experience & understanding of agile development practises.
• Project Management within an agile environment.
• Knowledge of work management tools such as JIRA.
• Clear, effective communicator, able to succinctly define and communicate project scope, goals and objectives across multiple teams.
• Happy to “roll up sleeves” and take a hands-on approach where required.
• Able to work with Product Teams that will have different business owners and priorities to create and gain agreement to a co-ordinated set of project outcomes.
• Good leadership and influencing skills, able to work with multiple teams to deliver against the agreed plan.
• Collaborative workstyle based around interactions with multiple small teams.
• Comfortable taking on feedback, seeking input from teams whilst seeing other people’s point of view, always looking for ways to improve.
• Show initiative and creativity in researching solutions to business problems.
• Proactively organise your work, work self-directed and independently to accomplish results.
• Critical thinker with an appetite to solve problems and puzzles and attention to detail.
• Ability to recognise a mistake, take ownership and corrective action to remedy it.
