Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor (FTC)

Top 50 National Law Firm

6+ PQE | London | Hybrid Working

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Non‑Contentious Construction Solicitor to join our client, a highly regarded Top 50 national law firm on a fixed‑term contract. This role sits within a thriving Projects, Development & Construction team known for its depth of expertise, market insight, and involvement in high‑profile, complex work across the UK.

The team advises on a broad spectrum of development and infrastructure matters, with particular strength in sectors such as real estate, housing and accommodation, commercial property, education, healthcare, energy, renewables, sustainability, and large‑scale regeneration. Their work spans procurement strategy, complex contracting structures, major development schemes, and risk management on live projects.

The Role:

This role is focused on high-quality, non-contentious construction work. You will be involved in drafting and negotiating a wide variety of construction and development documentation, including both standard form and bespoke contracts. The position offers the chance to contribute to major UK projects and collaborate closely with colleagues across complementary practice areas.

You will be expected to:

  • Lead on the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts, professional appointments, warranties and ancillary documents
  • Advise developer, investor and accommodation-sector clients on procurement strategy and project structuring
  • Handle JCT, NEC, FIDIC and bespoke agreements confidently
  • Support clients on risk allocation, contract interpretation and project delivery issues
  • Supervise junior lawyers and manage your own varied workload
  • Contribute to know‑how development and business development initiatives

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ideally 4+ years’ PQE in non-contentious construction law gained at a Top 200 or international law firm
  • Strong experience with JCT, NEC and other standard form contracts, including advising on amendments and market positions
  • Exposure to development, investor-led projects, and/or housing and accommodation matters (highly advantageous)
  • The ability to handle complex, bespoke agreements and large due diligence exercises
  • Experience supervising junior lawyers and contributing to team development
  • Strong organisational skills, a collaborative mindset, and a positive, solutions‑focused approach
  • A desire to get involved in the sector, support business development, and contribute to the team’s long-term success

Working Environment

The firm operates a modern hybrid working model. You will be able to work remotely for at least 50% of your time, with London office attendance on core team days. Flexible working requests can also be discussed.

The culture is inclusive, supportive and team‑oriented, with a strong emphasis on professional growth, collaboration and diversity.

Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.

Please note that your personal information will be treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy .
