Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the Databricks strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and maximum value extraction.
  • Serve as the Databricks subject matter expert, acting as the key architect for Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and Data Science teams.
  • Establish templates and frameworks to streamline collaboration, data sharing, and enablement across the organization.
  • Manage Unity Catalog, including permissions, usage, paths, and implementation to ensure data accessibility, security, and reliability.
  • Provide training, support, and guidance on best practices for Databricks usage, cost management, and performance optimization.
  • Monitor platform usage to inform decisions on resource allocation, cost control, and deprecation of redundant services.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience with Databricks platform architecture, administration, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in Unity Catalog management, including access control, data governance, and implementation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record in monitoring Databricks usage and optimizing cost efficiency.
  • Experience delivering training sessions on Databricks best practices and governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud platforms and Databricks integration.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of the sports betting and online gaming industry, including market trends and player behavior.
  • Understanding of gambling regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in customer retention strategies within the iGaming sector.
