Job Overview
We’re looking for an “attention to detail” focused Data Lead/Analyst to lead the development of a new reporting framework for our digital marketing channels. This role will work with stakeholders to define key metrics, build comprehensive dashboards, and ensure data accuracy. The ideal candidate will be able to analyse and translate complex data into actionable insights that drive weekly decision-making across channels, including paid & organic search, social media and email marketing.
This role is crucial to our mission of gaining full visibility into our digital marketing performance, and is expected to participate in all of the weekly team cadences. What we have at the moment
- All our data lives in GCP: GA4, marketing platforms and internal data.
- We are importing data using Google Cloud Functions
- BigQuery is used to query the datasets
- We have a suite of reports in Tableau
- We have built lead scoring models
- Analysis and automated reporting into the sales funnel process.
Future Projects
- Data Engineering – Ingesting further data from Platforms, setting up additional Google Cloud Functions, using GitHub, and curating trusted datasets from raw data in Google BigQuery.
- Analytics – Website / Lead Funnel Analysis, Sales Pipeline Analysis, Market Share.
- Data Visualisation / Business Intelligence – Tableau Reporting to support the sales teams and marketing channels.
- Data Science – Media Mix Modelling, Improving Lead Scoring, Session Scoring, Lead Allocation
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Reporting Infrastructure : Design and build comprehensive dashboards and reporting systems for all digital marketing channels (Paid Search, Social, Display, Email, etc.), focusing on actionable insights.
- Data Collection & Validation : Collaborate with marketing and analytics teams to ensure consistent, accurate data collection across platforms, and work to resolve discrepancies.
- Define KPIs and Metrics : Partner with senior stakeholders to identify KPIs that align with business goals, ensuring that all reports provide relevant, timely, and impactful data.
- Data Analysis & Insight Generation : Perform in-depth analyses on campaign performance, channel efficiency, customer acquisition costs, and other key metrics, making data-driven recommendations to optimize performance.
- Automate Reports & Dashboards : Build scalable reporting processes to streamline data updates, using tools such as Metabase, Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio, and/or Looker.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with digital marketing, sales, and finance teams to understand reporting needs, adapt to evolving requirements, and continuously improve reporting accuracy and accessibility.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis : Support stakeholders by delivering ad-hoc analyses on performance trends, marketing experiments, and the competitive landscape.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Marketing Analytics, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in data analysis within a digital marketing or eCommerce environment, with proven experience in building out reporting and analytics from scratch.
- Proficiency in data visuali sation tools Tableau is preferred but experience with similar tools such as Metabase, Power BI, Google Data Studio, or Looker will be considered.
- Advanced knowledge of digital marketing platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, CRM systems) and an understanding of key metrics within these platforms.
- Strong analytical skills : Experience with SQL, Excel, and (nice to have)
- Python : Intermediate knowledge required, needed for building cloud functions and working on Machine Learning projects.
- Problem-Solving Mindset : Strong ability to identify areas for improvement and drive solutions proactively.
- Communication Skills : Demonstrated ability to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail : Meticulous in ensuring data accuracy and completeness across all reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with digital marketing attribution models and multi-touch attribution.
- Experience in setting up and managing data pipelines using tools like Google BigQuery, AWS, or similar.
- Knowledge of AB testing principles and familiarity with tools such as Optimizely or VWO etc.
- Intermediate knowledge of Python and ML.
